Rest
Land. Receive. Release. Rest belongs in faithful leadership.
ROOTS is a rhythm that helps leaders return to their calling, their people, and the next faithful step.
The rhythm is a circle. You can always step back in.
God's calling deserves more than the time left over.
Leadership can quickly become a stream of operations, messages, conflict, administration, and tasks that all feel important. ROOTS offers a place to pause, find your bearings, and return.
The goal is not a perfect week. It is to protect what tends to disappear first: rest, spiritual attentiveness, people, equipping leaders, reflection, and the ability to let go.
ROOTS can take different places in your week. What matters is that the rhythm brings you back to the place from which you want to lead.
Land. Receive. Release. Rest belongs in faithful leadership.
Seek direction before activity. What needs your attention, and what must not steal the week?
Become still enough to notice. Make room for reflection before urgency fills it.
Follow up. Care. Share responsibility. Equip others to carry the work.
Close open loops. Do your part faithfully. Entrust the rest to God.
Protected rest without pressure to catch up.
Worship first, then notice the fruit God is already growing.
The COMPASS helps you name what you want to remain faithful to. It is an anchor you can return to throughout the week.
What is God calling you to?
Who must you not overlook?
Who needs to grow stronger?
What needs to move forward?
What must not steal the week?
What can you stop carrying?
In your ROOTS space, three simple questions can help you return to direction. You do not have to write anything down. Save a thought if you want to keep it.
Step out of the rush for a moment.
Let a few questions bring your attention together.
Carry only what matters into the day.
“We sow. We water. We serve. We pray.
God gives the growth.”
Salvation Army Officer · theology student · leader
I am a Salvation Army officer in Denmark, serving in Vejle alongside my wife, Eydritt. Our work spans worship, community life, social programmes, and equipping volunteers and young leaders. ROOTS grew from my own need for a more sustainable way to live and lead.
A weekly spiritual rhythm helps me make room for rest, direction, reflection, discipleship, equipping leaders, and surrender. My background in design and communications shapes how I build tools that connect people. ROOTS is a practical theological experiment in making room for deeper roots and faithful fruit.
Open it, find focus, and return to your day.
